Futur II

When tasked with creating a poster for an art exhibition where the Past is examined from a time long past it, my immediate thought was to use dinosaurs as the representative of that. The giant beasts that once roamed the plant, of whom only bones and faint footsteps remain, nothing could highlight that concept better in my mind. From there, the Tyrannosaurus rex was the obvious choice as the representative of all Dinosaurs. After struggling to find an aesthetically interesting way to present the apex predator, I eventually found my answer upon accidentally removing the skull's outline, which eventually resulted in a vague but recognizable representation of this long forgotten past. After a few more adjustments and the idea to show the title through an alignment of teeth, I ended up with a poster that I was very satisfied with.
Enemy
This admittedly simple animation was the culmination of everything I had learned in Blender up to that point. Using my modeling skills and my limited animation knowledge, I gave it my all to create an animation that would make sense and be entertaining. The environment and scenario are simple, but were still decently challenging to animate, with the throwing arc for the rock in particular being hard to make look right. Still, I managed to create a simple animation with self-designed characters that I am quite happy with, all things considered.
Cardboard Courier
When tasked with creating an original Website concept to train my skills in Figma, my mind naturally went to the absurd, coming up with a News Website reporting on Cardboard. Imagining an alternate (and superior) reality in which the world is (rightfully) infatuated and downright obsessed with Cardboard, I careful designed every element on this Website to resemble an aspect of this highly specific subject. Designing all the news stories around this specific subject was incredibly fun, and the end result is a comedically rich parody of the every-day news cycle, that effectively delivers on its absurd premise.
Sybo Coaching
When tasked with updating a Website for a Hypnosis Service, my options were a bit limited by the resources I had to work with. Improving on the old version of the Website was quite easy, but I wanted to go beyond that to challenge me personally in some way. Designing the section describing the Hypnotists unique services ultimately served to deliver just that, with the vague numbers indicating the age ranges in the background making for a unique center-piece for the entire sight. Beyond that, while the rest of the site was admittedly quite simple to make, I nevertheless came up with a result that effectively communicates the relaxed and inviting vibe that the customer had requested.
Pistacia Etiquette

Creating an etiquette for an oriental Candy Store proved to be a uniquely challenging experience. Not wanting to go for a bog-standard squared design due to my own artistic desires led to a difficult search for a shape that would simultaneously be easy to mass-produce and stand out amongst the crowd. Ultimately, turning the square 45° degrees to the right proved to be a simple, but effective way of achieving that result. Incorporating the colors and information needed for the etiquette also proved to be challenging, but after many revisions and the inclusion of a simple gradient, by suggestion of someone else, I ultimately came to a visually satisfying result.
Kleiderbörse

When tasked with creating a Flyer for a flee market for children's clothing, I immediately thought of revisiting an idea I had previously attempted with my "Futur II" project. Designing the basic layout was easy enough because of this, though I ended up running into a bit of trouble while choosing colors which would evoke the innocence of childhood while making the entire layout visually appealing. After some careful consideration and a couple of tweaks to the layout for the sake of readability and visual clarity, I quickly ended up with an effective and very satisfying end product.
Battenberg Conspiracy
What secrets does your work place hold? Do you ever notice minor irregularities that make you second-guess the true intentions of your employer? Tasked with creating a satirical conspiracy about my own workplace, I ended up creating a video unmasking the true nature of my superiors. Writing the script was easy enough, since exploring absurd (?) ideas based on nothing comes to me very naturally, and filming the video, while placing me in a very uncomfortable outfit, was a lot of fun. Editing everything down to an entertaining and interesting end product was quite time-consuming, but the video that ultimately came out of it is still one I am immensely satisfied with.
Arial
When tasked with creating a specimen for a font that already exists, my mind naturally went to the single most boring option, since I found the idea of a website seriously advertising a font that often comes preinstalled with your operating system rather entertaining. Creating compositions to demonstrate the different Subfonts ended up being immensely satisfying, and the idea of making the Microsoft Word- inspired layout authentically interactive, while pushing Figma to its limits, ended up being a very fun gimmick for the site.
Zaid Owies
Updating a Website for a musician ended up being an ultimately rather simple task. Incorporating the images used on the old version into the new one was quite satisfying, with the banner for the site in particular being a personal favorite. The sheer amount of Social Media sites that the client wanted to have included ended up being quite a challenge due to the inherent limitations of the Website builder which I utilize, forcing me to perform a lot of behind-the scenes hackery in order to make everything work and display correctly. The end result is a Website that, while simple, effectively demonstrates the talents of the musician while having a very elegant appearance.
Uranium

Representing the concept of Uranium visually without using pictures of the material itself ended up being quite an interesting challenge. Uranium in of itself isn't actually a destructive force of course, with Atomic Plants being a relatively safe and efficient power source overall. But the overall image of Uranium is of course tainted by the traumas of Chernobyl and the Cold War, with it being a prime associate to the worst tragedies associated with atomic destruction. Conveying this power through distorted images of suffering and skulls ended up creating a rather haunting representation of this force of nature.
Basketball
This was the final culmination of my journey of learning the basics of AfterEffects. Combining all the skills I had learned with the program, I ended up using several mechanics to achieve this result. Distorting basic shapes to make the creature squish, learning throwing arcs and momentum to throw the basketball in a realistic manner and utilizing basic animation skills to achieve "the blink". My propensity for cosmic horror used for comedic effect shines through here and the end result, while relatively short, is one I'm still quite happy with.
Nimo Watches
When tasked with creating my very first actual website, I was initially quite overwhelmed. I was tasked with carefully cutting out, color-correcting, and polishing up several pictures of watches, which I did with such detailed precision that it took several months to finish preparing all 60 of them. Once I was done with that, creating the website itself was not an easy feat either, with the layout of all the watches in particular being quite challenging due to the inherent limitations of the Website builder I was using. After several different designs, layouts and drafts, I ended up with a Website that, while basic, had taken up quite a lot time and effort due to details that might not even be apparent to the average visitor.
AZ-360
Creating a website for a design agency involved quite a lot of things that ended up as mere background elements on the final site. I had to create mockups for several products of companies that the agency had made websites for, which was quite fun, even if it was quite challenging to come up with sensical products for the companies since some of their businesses don't really lend themselves to mockups. Beyond that, creating the Website was uniquely challenging since I didn't want the Website for a Web Design company to look basic, which led to quite a few hurdles when implementing some more eccentric elements, such as the animated banner. The end result is most likely the website I am most satisfied with to date.
Fechten

When tasked with creating a design document for a sport, my choice of Fencing was pretty immediate due to the unique poses I would be able to abstract in it. Creating those abstractions was a uniquely fun challenge, with it requiring me to trace several different fencing poses and gradually simplifying them to create abstractions of them. Creating an animation using these abstractions proved difficult, as the animation sequence references I was able to find required heavy modifications to make look good in motion. The end result is a collection of beautiful abstractions that are satisfying to the eye.
Epic Fight of Epicness
In the process of learning Premiere Pro, I was tasked with creating an animation that incorporates the concept of "Take Off", "Flight", and "Landing". Not wanting to create a basic video of something flying, I instead decided to use my figurine collection that I had amassed from Kinder Joys to create an overly dramatic fight scene, making tow of the figures fight like stands from the series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which I ended up theming the entire short around. While the end result looks extremely cheap, the editing still took up quite a decent amount of time and the end product, in my opinion, is quite satisfactory, given my limited resources.
About Me
Innovative, Creative, Passionate.
All of these are words. Third Party Sources have yet to confirm whether they apply to Gabriel though.
Gabriel is the kind of person that strings words together and thinks he made a sentence.
He became a graphic designer because the universe doesn't make any sense.
He's an amateur voice actor in his free time, emphasis being on "amateur" here. He can't present any examples
of it here though because no one likes him. I don't either. Fuck this guy. He owes me like 20 bucks.
If you ever meet him, I am so sorry.
That guy on the right isn't him btw, I just found this guy on Google Images and thought he looked funny. Look
at that stupid nose. Dumbass.
